"I figured you for a man in black..." She smiled softly at the though and swept her bangs back before hooking the silken hair behind her ear. "I will keep that in mind. But you know... if you go with me, you'll end up happier. And... your company would make me happy. You can help me find a hat to make that little vein on Ragnor's head pulse."

She'd laughed in her head a little as she imagined it. That is... until she realized that Alec was far too quiet. Tipping her head, she listened to him and rolled over what she might have said to make him so quiet. Until he spoke and her heart stuttered in her chest. Breathing in slowly, she considered her reputation over the years. "Alec... I'm so old... my reputation was destroyed long before I had a chance to save it."

Part of her wanted to reach out and touch him, but she remained still. "I want you to know... thank you. No one's given me so much consideration before." Which made up a majority of why she wanted to help him so badly. She knew this resignation wasn't for her... something hurt him. Something hurt him deeply and the wound still bled under the surface. "I promise to sleep on the couch, angel... I will not hurt your reputation either."

When she'd moved to help him, she'd been careful not to stare too long. But it occurred to her that he stared first. When she hopped to the floor, she looked up at him meeting his gaze when he jerked up to look at her. He looked like he'd been caught with his hand in the cookie jar against his parents wishes. Thinking it over, she marveled at the fact that he seemed almost like a man that had never looked at a girl before.

"Do you want me to wash your back and hair, Alec? I promise to do no more." Maybe her golden eyes slid down over his chest along the lines of muscles on porcelain skin. She had to close her eyes to stop the look of pure awe she turned upon him. "I'll be right over there..."

She smiled at him gently and indicated to the rest of the room behind the screen. Why had it been so hard to move away and look somewhere else? Magna felt relieved just knowing that he couldn't see her sink down to her knees as she caught her breath. Carefully controlling each breath, she focused on the bruises and lightly touched the worst ones on her sides to heal them.

But even that concentration wasn't enough to stop the train of thought hellbent on imagining him without clothes. Mentally berating herself, she furrowed her brow and shook her head. Alec wouldn't be interesting in a warlock. But she could take care of him... and she would do so happily.
