Some Wishes Can Come True (for [personal profile] magnus_bane)

It had been silly and childish... The kind of 'spell' that mundanes thought magic was like, but Isabelle had insisted and it'd been easier to go along with the idea and make her happy then tell her no. 'Write down a wish...' But the wish was for his perfect love who was supposed to magically appear to him...

If Izy didn't already know he was gay, Alec would've wondered if this was her way of finding out for sure.

He dutifully wrote out his list, following her instructions that it not be too detailed or 'the magic wouldn't work.' Which was weird since they both knew magic really didn't work that way. Staring down at the clean, white sheet of paper, he barely noticed that Isabelle was strangely quiet, giving him time to think about his wish. Slowly, he wrote the words down neatly, plain dark ink bright against the page.

Someone strong and intelligent. Snarky.

He paused, considering who he should be describing and the life he lived before adding more to the 'spell'.

Someone who knows about Shadowhunters and can take care of himself.
Someone with golden eyes.

Izy made a faint sound at that, knowing who exactly that described but at least she hadn't said anything. She did take the paper away, announcing that she had to add her sisterly input, scribbling down Someone who makes me smile while telling Alec that he didn't smile enough. When she handed it back, he stared at it for a moment before starting to write. If he was going to use a silly, mundane 'spell' to find true love, he might as well add a few things to the list. Things that deep down he wanted but would never tell anyone.

Someone who sees ME. Someone who will love me forever.

The page was folded up so his sister couldn't see the additions and she took her list and threw it into a bowl of burning incense, the flames flaring brightly as she told him to do the same. His 'spell' burned blue instead of orange, a shower of bright sparks drifting toward the ceiling before winking out suddenly.

It was strange, but neither one of them thought too much about it, not realizing that the 'spell' might not be real, but the magic they dabbled in was and that they had unintentionally sent a fire message to the most powerful warlock in New York City.
